BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, to remain in power the government is destroying country’s interest. The incumbent Prime Minister did not want to sell gas in 1996 to go to power but signed the agreement yesterday to export gas.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organized by northern region student forum on the occasion of 12th jail release day of BNP’s acting Chairman Tarique Rahman at the national press club on Wednesday.
Mirza Fakhrul said, the current crisis is not the crisis of BNP rather it is a crisis of the nation. The government did not try to solve the Rohingya crisis. The government will not be able to topple people through repression.
He said, the 26 lakh cases have to be withdrawn filed against BNP activists including Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman. The Awami League government has turned into the role of oppressor. They are cheating with people.
Urging Chhatra Dal leaders and activists to do politics for politics not for posts, Mirza Fakhrul said, BNP is united and will be. Nobody needs not to be misguided.
