BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s sister Selima Islam has told the newsmen that her sister is severely sick and she needs better treatment on emergency basis.

She said this after visiting Begum Khaleda Zia at BSMMU hospital on Friday afternoon.

Selima Islam said, we have seen deteriorated physical condition of Begum Khaleda Zia. She cannot stand without help of others. She cannot eat by herself. Her hands and legs have turned stiff. She needs better treatment on emergency basis.

‘Physicians are saying that she is well’ when newsmen said this, in response she said, those are lie. We have seen her condition just now.

When asked about Khaleda Zia’s treatment in abroad she said, she can undergo treatment in abroad if the government wants. But Begum Khaleda Zia did not say anything about this.

Six family members visited Begum Khaleda Zia at the hospital from 3 pm to 4:30 pm on Friday, said BNP Chairperson’s press wing member Shamsuddin Didar.

Begum Khaleda Zia was admitted at BSMMU hospital on April 1 for treatment and is being imprisoned since February 8 last year. She is being kept in the cabin number 612.
