BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, the government has disrespected the court by not submitting the health report of Begum Khaleda Zia but the Appellate Division did not take any action.

He said this at a program organized at the National Press Club on Friday.

Mirza Fakhrul said, madam is severely ill. The government has disrespected the court. Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University disrespected the court.

He said, it was scheduled to submit the health report of madam by December 5 but not submitted.

Thursday was the scheduled day to submit the health report of imprisoned Begum Khaleda Zia in connection with Zia Charitable Trust graft case.

On that day the state appealed for time to submit the health report before six-member Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain. The court fixed the date for submitting report by December 11 and December 12 for next hearing.

At one stage pro-BNP lawyers began to shout. Being embarrassed the judges left the courtroom. After that taking position at the court premises the pro-BNP lawyers created a chaotic situation.

After an interval for sometime lawyers of Khaleda Zia appealed for fixing the hearing date December 8 instead of December 12. But the appellate bench said that it is not possible.
