Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque wanted to play good cricket abroad from the first test. But in the Rawalpindi test of the two match series tigers could not bat full ninety overs on the first day. Bangladesh batsmen were all out by the Pakistani pace attack in 82.5 overs.

After winning the toss host captain Azhar Ali invited Bangladeshi batsmen to bat first. But both Bangladeshi openers displayed bad batting show.

In the very first over Saif became victim of bowling by Shaheen Afridi. Debutant Saif’s career has begun with duck. Tamim also could not settle down. In the second over he returned to the pavilion after scoring 3 runs being LBW by bowling of Mohammad Abbas. So it was said that - morning shows the day.

In the third wicket partnership Mominul and Nazmul Hossain Shanto tried to recover after scoring 59 runs. But Mominul went to the pavilion after scoring 30 runs being victim of Afridi.

After departure of the Bangladesh captain, Shanto hinted about a good partnership with Mahmudullah. But after the lunch Mahmudullah departed after scoring 25 and Shanto who scored 44 before the lunch also got out after returning to the crease.

Then Liton Das made a partnership with Mohammad Mithun. They put 54 runs on the score board. But Liton was LBW bowled by Harris Shohail after scoring 33. Aftermath Mithun along with Taijul made a partnership of 53 runs. Mithun scored his second half century of the career.

Taijul played his innings of 24 runs off 72 balls. Mithun departed after scoring 63 off 140 balls. Then the tail enders could not make any resistance. Bangladesh were all out for 233 runs after 82.5 overs. Then Pakistan got the opportunity to bat but bad light hindered the process.
